Low Fat Tuscan Chicken

G'day!

Today I cooked a delicious Tuscan chicken recipe I found in a low fat Italian cooking book.

What caught my attention about this recipe was its simplicity (yet, full of traditional Tuscan flavours because of the ingredients used).

But my Skinny Kitchen Hand and I decided to cut corners to make this recipe quicker to prepare and serve, as we did not want to spend the whole evening preparing an everyday dinner.

Not bad! No left-overs left. No prisoners taken!

I hope you like it too.

Yours in health,

Jeff "The Skinny Chef"

Thank you, George, for your informative article and your comments.

The best thing of it is that I absolutely agree with the content in the article.

Sure, we can adopt a low fat regime and lose kilos... but what else do we lose with it. Good point!

But that is not how I lost weight, and not the type of diet I propose (as I do not advocate for any one system).

Weight Watchers worked for me, but it may not be the best thing for another person.

By the way, WW does is not a fat-reduction diet. It is actually a balanced diet measuring the amount of fat and kilo-joules daily intake, and encourages including proteins and fibre in one's diet, on top of regular exercise: common sense ain't that common, huh?

Additionally, WW keeps you motivated with like-minded people, and educated in issues of food, nutrition and healthy eating.

I'm not affiliated to Weight Watchers, and I'm not in their payroll. But I give credit when credit's due.

My brother has had great results with Atkins. He lost 12 kg in 3 weeks with it. And whilst he's aware that nobody has been able to discredit the diet (He's got a degree in Human Biology), we both agree that the ongoing use of Atkins could have adverse effects in the long run due to the amounts of fat that the diet includes. I may try it this year, but only as a "weight loss booster" experiment for a month or so.

Then there is the Alkaline Foods diet, which I discuss in my Smoothie Report. Tony Robbins believes this the way to go. People can be allergic to certain foods, and unknowingly continue eating things that cause their bodies to shut down their fat-burning switches. I think that would be worth trying too.

And together with my fat, I lost lots of big clothes I could not fit when I became smaller and lighter! But I did not lose muscle because I included exercise (which I still do).

One of the hardest things for people who are on a diet is the limitation of meals they can have. My recipes are ideas of meals they can have, together with some of the nutritional information for each portion.

So, George, I wish to thank you for giving me the opportunity to clarify that I don't advocate simple low-fat diets (or any diet) as a way of losing weight.

I simply say that WW worked for me, and I'm sharing recipes that I know WW people (and others who're interested in low fat recipes) can enjoy... and I hope you do too!

Thanks George.

You can get more information about the alkaline diet via a free newsletter from this site: http://alkaline-foods.greatest-secrets.com

That site has an audio message from the author of a book on this topic. He explains how he learnt through Anthony Robbins how the alkalinity or acidity of a food determines whether we burn fat or not.

Cheers

Jeff
