Happy 4th July!

Greetings!

I want to wish a Happy 4th July to all my American visitors and friends. I really hope you're enjoying yourselves on this festive day, remembering the roots of your heroic history.

One particular thing I love about the American dream is that, when you think about it, you realise life is full of opportunities, and countries like America (and, of course, my beloved Australia) provide individuals with the opportunity to improve themselves in many ways.

It just takes determination and persistance.

A few weeks ago, a woman who visited my site sent me a message asking "how can I live on a low fat diet, if all I can afford is hot dogs on sale, and noodles?".

Been there. Done that. Survived it and improved it.

There are 2 answers to that question. The first answer is that, if you do your research well, there are low fat meals that are cheap to prepare, tasty, and nutritious. So, living a "low-fat life" is not necessarely expensive (or it should not be).

However, I suspect that the question involves something more than the price of food. It goes to the essence of life management: Mind Your Business.

Yes. When we're in a rut, we tend to accept that things are the way they are. We tend to think that life is that way, full of unfairness, full of injustice, and full of pain.

However, positive changes take place when:

1. We question the reality we're in, and decide that such reality is not where we want to be, and
2. We realise that we (you and I) have the power to change our lives, no matter what our circumstances are.

When you do the above 2 things... "the universe conspires in your favour".

Really... a person in financial difficulties has 3 choices in the above scenario:

1. Keep eating hot dogs on sale and noodles; or
2. Look for cheap low fat recipes and cook them; or
3. Refuse to live a substandar life and look for a way to make more money.

Personally, I like the last option. I refuse to be denied!
